When costs are rising and we need to review personal spending, it’s time for
colour me beautiful
to come to the rescue. However, tightening belts doesn’t mean doing without a little retail therapy, you just need a little sartorial know-how.
Before rushing to the shops and spending money you don’t have, maybe now is the time to book that image consultation you’ve been wanting. For the price of an outfit, you could save yourself a fortune in the long term.
Wouldn’t you love to have an organised wardrobe with clothes that you actually wear because they suit you both in terms of
colours
and
styles?
When you learn how to dress for your shape and colouring you won’t waste money on those ‘I don’t know why I bought this’ items!

Have a good rummage in your wardrobe. Do you really need another pair of jeans/black trousers? Maybe you’ve forgotten about that top you bought last summer and haven’t worn yet!
Spend an afternoon bagging up items that no longer fit or you’ll never wear again and give to friends or charity. Be careful though; sometimes what’s needed might be as simple as some new buttons to rejuvenate an outfit! A few alterations can give it a new life and is certainly worth investigating if the garment was originally an investment piece. If you’re not sure what to do, why don’t you ask your
colour me beautiful
consultant
for advice when you attend a consultation.

The good news is that the love affairs we have had with ‘IT’
bags
are over. There have been so many ‘it’ bags, that they are now just plain ‘bags’, and they don’t need a fancy label for us to fall in love with them.

Ditto with
ballet pumps and sandals.
You know you’ll want more next year, so don’t go and spend a fortune on a few strings attached to a leather sole that you’ll hardly wear. If you do have expensive ones, get them resoled with rubber to make them last longer.

Show that you know what’s in with
bangles
galore. You may already have several but haven’t thought of wearing them all together! Go for it!

How many lipsticks do you really need?
|
|
|

In our book, three or four is all you need. One of them will be to wear with your reds, one for day, one for evening and a gloss for a more groomed look (over lip pencil and lipstick, or for the no-make days; even on those days, a little mascara and gloss will give you a boost).
Going to a
colour me beautiful
consultant does not mean throwing away all your make-up. When attending a
make-up lesson
or a
make-up prescription
you will be asked to bring your make-up bag so that the consultant can check that what you already have is right for you.

Make sure that what you buy is not ‘dry clean only’ or the cost of the garment will double up immediately.

High maintenance
hair?
See if there is a hairdresser in your area who runs ‘special’ evenings or promotions.

A
pedi-mani
is fun, but can be expensive. Either find somewhere that has a promotion or why not have a girly party and do it yourselves!
Why not invite a
colour me beautiful
consultant to join in and choose from a
colour, make-up or style party
for a theme. You will learn loads and have fun.
